About Risograph Prints

What is a risograph print?
A risograph print is made using a stencil-based printing process originally developed for short-run copying, now widely used by independent publishers and artists. Each colour is printed in a separate pass using soy or vegetable-based inks, giving risograph prints their bold, slightly textured, and sometimes imperfectly aligned finish. No two prints from the same edition are ever completely identical.

Are risograph prints original artworks?
Risograph prints are original prints in the printmaking sense — produced through a hands-on process. However, they are part of an edition, meaning multiple copies exist. Every product page states clearly whether it's a limited or open edition.

Are your prints limited edition?
It depends on the print. Some editions are limited to a fixed number of copies (typically 30–50) and won't be reprinted once sold out. Others are open editions, and can be printed again. Every product page states this clearly.

Print Details

Are prints signed?
All of our prints are signed, and some are numbered by the artist. This is always stated on the product page.

What paper is used?
Paper varies by edition — typically Munken or similar uncoated stock between 130g and 250g. The exact paper is listed on each product page.

What size are the prints?
Sizes vary by edition. Each product page lists the exact dimensions for that specific piece.

Shipping & Pickup

Do you ship worldwide?
Yes — we ship worldwide from Lisbon. Shipping is free for orders over €60 within Portugal, and over €90 for the rest of the world.

Can I pick up my order in person?
Yes — online orders can be picked up at our KIOSK at Av. Dom Carlos I, 119, Lisbon, within 3 business days of purchase. You have 14 business days to collect once notified. Pickup is not available at Black Sheep.

Buying In Person & Returns

Can I buy at Black Sheep Lisboa?
Yes — every piece on display at Black Sheep Lisboa (Praça das Flores nº62) is available to purchase directly from the bar staff. Selection may differ from the online catalogue. Purchases are buy-and-take; no reservations or holds.

Can I get a refund or exchange?
Prints can be refunded or exchanged if you contact us within 30 days of your payment date. Original artworks are final sale.
